Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
Mokifun.com ("Mokifun", "we", "us") is a free learning resource for parents, teachers and elementary-school kids: articles about school and learning, printable activity books, and kid-safe games. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect very little, we sell nothing, and the children's sections of this site are held to a stricter standard than the rest.
Who is responsible for your data
Mokifun.com operates this website and is the controller for the data described below. For any privacy question or request, use our contact form — we respond to every message.
What we collect, and why
- Usage statistics (Google Analytics 4). We measure which pages, games and activity books are popular so we can improve the site. Analytics data is aggregated and pseudonymous; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can opt out at any time with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Server logs. Our web server automatically records standard technical data (IP address, browser type and version, requested page, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. Logs rotate automatically and are not used for profiling.
- High scores. Some games have an optional leaderboard. If you submit a score, we store the nickname you enter, the score, and the time of play. Nicknames are limited in length, filtered for personal information, and stored without any account, e-mail address or other identifier.
- Contact form. If you contact us, we receive the name, e-mail address and message you submit. We use them only to reply, and we delete resolved conversations periodically.
We do not require accounts. We do not collect precise location, we do not buy data about you from third parties, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Cookies and similar technologies
We keep cookies to a minimum. What you may encounter on Mokifun:
- Functional (always active): a session cookie that keeps forms working (for example the CSRF protection on our contact form), and browser storage for small conveniences such as remembering a high-score nickname or a game setting. These contain no tracking identifiers.
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) that help us count visits and understand which content is used. Retention is limited and IP data is processed by Google under its own safeguards. - Advertising (adult-directed pages only): if advertising is shown on pages aimed at parents and teachers, our advertising partners may set cookies to serve, cap and measure ads — see "Advertising" below. Where the law requires it, these are only set after consent via a consent banner.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site keeps working without them (a few conveniences, such as a remembered nickname, will reset).
Advertising
To keep everything on Mokifun free, we may show advertising on pages aimed at adults — the articles for parents and teachers and the activity-book pages. We work (or may work) with third-party advertising partners such as Google AdSense. These vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads; Google's use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings or industry tools such as aboutads.info/choices and optout.networkadvertising.org. Where required (for example for visitors from the EEA or UK), we ask for consent before advertising cookies are set.
Children's sections: our games and game pages are treated as child-directed under COPPA. Advertising on those pages, if shown, is strictly non-personalized (contextual): ads are matched to the content of the page, never to a profile of the visitor, and no advertising identifiers are used there. Our own games contain no in-game advertising at all.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Mokifun is designed with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act in mind:
- No accounts, logins or profiles — for anyone, of any age.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only thing a child can type into a game is a leaderboard nickname, which is stored without any identifying information and filtered against personal details.
- No personalized advertising and no advertising identifiers on child-directed pages.
If you believe a child has nevertheless provided personal information (for example through the contact form), reach us via the contact form and we will delete it promptly.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers needed to run the site: our hosting provider (server infrastructure, EU-based), Google (Analytics, and advertising once active), and no one else. Each processes data under its own privacy commitments and our instructions. We never sell personal information.
How long we keep data
- Server logs: rotated automatically, kept briefly for security.
- Analytics: standard limited retention configured in Google Analytics.
- High scores: kept while the leaderboard exists; nickname entries contain no personal data.
- Contact messages: deleted periodically once resolved.
Security
The entire site is served over HTTPS. Access to our systems is limited and protected, submitted scores are validated server-side, and we store as little as possible — the best protection for data is not having it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to certain processing — including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and, for European visitors, the GDPR. Because we store almost nothing that can identify you, most requests can be resolved quickly: use the contact form and tell us what you need. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right, and we do not sell personal information (so there is nothing to opt out of under "Do Not Sell").
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. Meaningful changes (for example activating a new advertising partner) will be reflected here before they take effect.
