Halloween Activity Book for 5th Grade โ Free Printable
Made for 10- and 11-year-olds who groan at "baby" Halloween worksheets, this free 14-page Halloween Activity Book brings the hardest puzzles in our series: a Math Pyramid built on multiplication, a nonogram-style Picture Puzzle, a full Sudoku, and a Multiplication Maze that only rewards correct answers. The word activities are there too, anchored by a page of Halloween Fun Facts.
Reading and words first: after the Fun Facts, students tackle a Word Scramble and a Word Search where the leftover letters spell a secret word. Then the math. Secret Message asks them to solve problems and crack a code. The Multiplication Maze has them solve and color the correct path from start to end. The Math Pyramid is the advanced version โ each box is the product of the two boxes below it โ so working backward means dividing and thinking about factors.
The Picture Puzzle is a nonogram: numbers along the rows and columns tell you how many squares in a row to color, and a Halloween image appears when it is solved. A 9ร9 Sudoku, a Tic-Tac-Toe page for two players, and a detailed Halloween Mandala complete the set.
Two Activity pages send students online. They play Math Monkey on Mokifun and write down how many problems they got right, then play Word Race and record how fast they found the words. The score boxes make an easy class leaderboard for Halloween week.
Skills: multiplication and division fluency, factor reasoning, logical deduction, spatial reasoning, close reading, vocabulary, and spelling. It works as a Halloween homework packet, an enrichment folder for fast finishers, a sub-day plan, or a quiet-time option at a class party.
Print on US Letter in black and white, one copy per student. The Sudoku and nonogram grids are sized for a regular pencil, and the mandala gives kids a reason to bring colored pencils.
