This is the most challenging booklet in our fall series, made for 10- and 11-year-olds who are ready for real brain-teasers. Across 14 free printable pages, 5th graders get multiplication that actually stretches them, a logic puzzle they may not have seen before, and word activities built on a page of fall facts.

The reading and word pages come first: Fall Fun Facts, a Word Scramble, and a Word Search whose leftover letters spell a secret word. Then the math ramps up. Secret Message has students solve problems to crack a code. The Multiplication Maze only lets correct answers through — solve and color the path from start to end. The Math Pyramid here is the harder version: each box is the product of the two below it, which means kids sometimes have to divide to work backward.

The Picture Puzzle is a nonogram: the numbers along each row and column tell you how many squares in a row to color, and a fall image appears when it is solved. Add a full 9×9 Sudoku, a Tic-Tac-Toe tournament page for two players, and a detailed Mandala to color, and there is enough here for several sittings.

Two Activity pages link to Mokifun. Students play Math Monkey and write down how many problems they got right, then play Word Race and record how fast they found the words. The booklet has a score box for each, which turns them into a friendly class competition.

Skills covered: multiplication and division fluency, factor reasoning, logical deduction, spatial reasoning, reading for detail, vocabulary, and spelling. It fits well as a fall-break homework packet, an enrichment folder, or a quiet-time option for a classroom in the run-up to Thanksgiving.

Print on US Letter, black and white, one copy per student. The Sudoku and nonogram grids are sized to be filled in with a regular pencil, so no special printing is needed.
