Winter Activity Book for 4th Grade — Free Printable
A Multiplication Maze, a Sudoku, and a Code Breaker that hides a whole winter sentence — this free 14-page Winter Activity Book is aimed at 9- and 10-year-olds who are past the easy stuff. It is a solid independent-work packet for the cold months, whether that means a classroom or a kitchen table.
Reading first: the Winter Fun Facts page supplies the vocabulary for the Word Scramble, the Matching page (match each word to its meaning), and the Word Search, where the leftover letters spell a secret word. Code Breaker closes the book — each symbol stands for a letter, and kids decode complete sentences.
Math is where this grade's book gets tougher. Secret Message has students solve problems and use the answers to crack a code. The Multiplication Maze asks them to solve multiplication problems and color only the correct path from start to end — a wrong answer sends them down a dead end. The 9×9 Sudoku requires every digit from 1 to 9 once in each row, column, and box.
For a break there is a Winter Mandala to color and Dots and Boxes, the two-player pencil game, with the rules printed at the bottom of the page.
Two Activity pages send kids to Mokifun. They play Math Monkey and write down how many problems they got right, then later play Word Race and record how fast they found the words. Teachers often set these up as a friendly leaderboard for the week.
Skills covered: reading informational text, vocabulary and definitions, spelling, multiplication fact fluency, decoding, logical reasoning, and strategy. It fits a 4th-grade winter enrichment folder, early finishers, a sub plan, a snow-day packet, or the quiet days right before winter break.
Print on US Letter in black and white; the maze path and mandala are made to be colored. Print one copy per student so the Sudoku and Code Breaker stay fresh.
